BOULDER, Colo.—School officials say they’re stepping up security at two schools after death threats targeting African Americans and Hispanics were scrawled in a boys bathroom and on a cafeteria table.
School officials found a threat written in black marker in a bathroom at stall at Boulder High School saying, “All blacks will die on Friday April 16.” A similar message referencing Hispanics was scrawled on a cafeteria table at Boulder County’s Arapahoe Campus. Sheriff’s spokesman Rick Brough told The Denver Post that a 16-year-old student was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of ethnic intimiation.
Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley on Tuesday said they’re investigating the threat at Boulder High.
School officials say they’re meeting with students, staff and parents to discuss the threat.
