Must be something in the air. First Larry King and his wife of 13 years.

Now, five months after the birth of their daughter, Mel Gibson and his Russian girlfriend have split.

“They just drifted apart,” a close friend of Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva told People magazine about the break-up. “They’re both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They’re still friends and they’ll both raise Lucia together.”

Gibson and Grigorieva split after over a year of dating.

While Gibson is in Mexico filming “How I Spent My Summer Vacation,” the Russian musician-singer is said to be busy working on her music career.

Though the couple previously said they didn’t have any plans to walk down the aisle, Grigorieva, 39, told the U.K. edition of Glamour that she wouldn’t mind becoming Mrs. Gibson.

“But right now we’re just so happy to be having this child together,” she said in November.

Gibson, 54, is also the father of seven children with his estranged wife Robyn, whom he divorced last year after 30 years of marriage. Grigorieva has a son, Alexander, with her former boyfriend, former Bond actor Timothy Dalton.

Rocker Melissa Etheridge and her partner, actress Tammy Lynn Michaels Etheridge, have also announced their separation.

In a statement Thursday, they asked for “consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period.” The two held a commitment ceremony in Malibu, Calif., in 2003.

Tammy Etheridge, 35, gave birth to twins — a son, Miller, and a daughter, Johnnie Rose — in 2006. The couple used an anonymous donor from a sperm bank.

The 48-year-old singer shares custody of daughter Bailey Jean and son Beckett with former partner Julie Cypher. Musician David Crosby was the sperm donor for the children, who were delivered by Cypher.

Melissa Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.

Before Twitter, how did Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher ever communicate?

Moore and husband began their relationship through the medium of text messages, of course, she said yesterday on “Live With Regis and Kelly.”

Moore, 47, appeared on the show to promote her new film “The Joneses,” but digressed to talking about her relationship with Kutcher, 32.

She said they started a text relationship when they finally got together but admitted that when they first met, Kutcher paid no attention to her.

She said: ‘The first night I met him he didn’t have two words to say to me – he had a singular focus and it was on somebody else.’

But she said it all went her way when they met again just two weeks later and ended up in a big party back at Ashton’s hotel room.

Demi said she had popped out of the room to ‘call my children to say goodnight’.

She added: ‘All of a sudden the door to the hotel opened and he said, “That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard” and closed the door.

‘And I said, “OK, this is somebody different”.’

Asked to reveal her ‘beauty, diet and exercise regimen,’ she responded: ‘Lots of sex!’

Comedienne Joan Rivers says “No man ever told me I was beautiful” in a new documentary.

She suggests that that may behind her reliance on plastic surgery.

In “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work,” a documentary premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, she suggests her mother and her partners may be to blame.

“No man ever told me I was beautiful,” she says in the film, adding that the men in her life told her she “looked good” but never that she was pretty.

In footage from one of her ’60s stand-up routine, Rivers also reveals that her mother often poked fun at her for her weight.

“Looks are not important,” she mimics her mother saying to her repeatedly.

Rivers is surprisingly open about her obsession with her looks. At one point in the film, the 76-year-old tells a make-up artist – she indulges in getting full hair and make-up done each morning – that her worst nightmare is waking up and having a naked face.

Regardless, the documentary’s opening scene shows a bare-faced Rivers getting cakes of foundation applied to her refreshingly veined and wrinkled skin.

Earlier this month, the Westchester native told Joy Behar on her HLN show that she first got plastic surgery in her 30s because of the bags under her eyes.

“Then I thought, do a little bit a lot,” she told the “View” co-host.

Rivers also defended Heidi Montag, the reality star who infamously underwent 10 plastic surgeries at once. She jokes that Montag lucked out by only having to pay the anesthesiologist once for all that work.
