A semi-truck and a water tanker collided head-on in Weld County this afternoon, killing both drivers.
The crash happened about 12:43 p.m. on Weld County Road 49 just south of Weld County Road 50, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The names of the drivers have not been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but preliminary information indicates the semi was traveling north when it crossed into the southbound lanes, Trooper Heather Cobler, a spokeswoman for the Colorado State Patrol, said in a statement.
“This tragedy should remind us all, of the potential dangers on Colorado roadways, and how important it is to drive safely,” she stated.
