The University of Colorado brought home the overall team crown Saturday at USA Triathlon’s collegiate national championship in Lubbock, Texas.

Colorado used a first-place men’s team finish led by Cedric Wane and a runner-up showing anchored by 2009 champion Jessica Broderick on the women’s side to claim its first overall title since winning three in a row from 2003-05.

Google Vail, Beaver Creek.

Vail and Beaver Creek mountains will serve as the first ski areas in the nation to be featured on Google Maps Street View. A company work crew was recently on the slopes of the sister ski resorts capturing 360-degree views and GPS coordinates of ski runs that should become available to Google Street View users in coming months. Vail Resorts spokeswoman Jen Brown said Google also will be mapping Vail Resorts’ other mountains: Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly (in California).

Film festival back in Carbondale.

Built on the five guiding principles of respect, commitment, humility, purpose and balance — and their application in the world of adventure sports — the 5Point Film Festival returns to Carbondale on April 29-May 2.

About 30 adventure sports films will showcase these principles while transporting viewers to all corners of the world and revealing unforgettable stories from the outdoors. Many of the films’ directors, producers and stars also will be on hand to discuss their inspiration.
