A 19-year-old Fort Lewis College student is facing charges as a serial bank robber in Durango, police said Tuesday.
Durango police and the FBI arrested Chase Bryant Gardner at his Durango home Tuesday on suspicion of four holdups since December, including two April 1.
Records show Gardner’s current address is on the Fort Lewis campus, but he previously lived on West Ken Caryl Avenue in Jefferson County.
Gardner is being held without bail in the La Plata County Jail.
He was sentenced to one year of probation last month after pleading guilty to drunken driving in La Plata County. Among other traffic offenses, he was arrested on careless- driving charges in Jefferson County in 2006, but the case was dismissed when one of the parties failed to show up for the trial, according to court records.
