Wiggins’ Rolando Celis may need a new middle initial. How about K?

On Saturday, the senior right-hander took the mound in the seventh inning and struck out three Akron Rams to save a 4-3 victory. In the second game of a doubleheader, he went the distance in a 10-2 victory — the Tigers scored nine runs in the ninth inning — and struck out 20 Rams.

Of a possible 24 outs, he recorded 23 by strikeout.

Celis enters the weekend 4-0 with a save as well as a no-hitter (against Sedgwick County on April 10).

Said Tigers coach Matt Sees: “His motion is just so smooth. He looks like Ubaldo Jimenez. It just looks like he doesn’t have to put any effort into it.”
