WASHINGTON—Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman will miss a second consecutive start because of a bad right hamstring.

Manager Jim Riggleman said after Zimmerman sat out Washington’s 2-0 loss to Colorado on Thursday that the 2009 NL All-Star and Gold Glove winner also would be held out of the lineup Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Zimmerman pulled up while running out a double in the seventh inning Wednesday, and said before Thursday’s game he still felt sore. He was replaced at third base by Alberto Gonzalez against Colorado, while Willie Harris hit third in the order.

Zimmerman missed five consecutive starts earlier this season with a strained left hamstring. He is hitting .341 with two homers and 10 RBIs this season.

“Hopefully it’ll just be a day or two, and after that, it’ll be a non-factor,” Zimmerman said before Thursday’s game. “It felt like a cramp. It still feels something like a cramp.”
