BEAVER CREEK — A 29-year-old man tried to walk off with a wooden beaver worth $199 from The Beaver Creek Trading Post on April 10, the Vail Daily reports.
A witness later told police he saw the man walking off with the wooden figure and recognized it from the store. The suspect told police he’d had a couple beers and that he took the beaver because it was sitting “in the middle of nowhere.”
