It’s about time another team in town acquired a left-handed quarterback who played in the SEC.
Tim Tebow, meet the Rockies’ Todd Helton and Seth Smith.
Not that Helton or Smith played that much, but facts are facts. Helton played quarterback at Tennessee, and Smith backed up Eli Manning at Ole Miss.
So, does Helton think Tebow will be a big-time player?
“Who knows if anybody is going to be a big-time player in the NFL?” Helton said. “He’s a heck of an athlete, so he’s got that going for him. Those guys play for keeps in the SEC. I’ve been out of it for a while, but it’s a different speed down there. I’m sure he’s going to be prepared for anything. He’ll make the adjustments. It seems to me the best quarterbacks are the ones who work hard and are smart, and he’s both of those things.”
