On Monday, Chief Gerry Whitman and the Denver Police Department will recognize several citizens for their assistance to the community.
Among those being recognized is a University of Denver security officer who detained a paroled sex offender who was trespassing in the women’s locker room. Also, another citizen who assisted an elderly victim after a fall, and another who helped a police officer handcuff a violent suspect.
The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Art Dill Auditorium in the Denver Police Administration Building, 1331 Cherokee St.
