Voting is about to begin in the race to win a commencement speech by President Barack Obama.
The White House says people can start voting at 6 a.m. today for one of six schools named as finalists, including the Denver School of Science & Technology — a charter school in Stapleton
People can see and rate three-minute videos and short essays from each school at .
Voting will continue until 10 p.m. Thursday. Obama will pick a winner from the top three May 4.
The White House said DSST was selected as a finalist out of 1,000 schools because 100 percent of its seniors every year get accepted to four-year colleges, and its achievement is among the best in Colorado.
The other schools in the running are in Overland Park, Kan.; Cincinnati; Lawndale, Calif.; Kalamazoo, Mich.; and Miami. The Associated Press
