Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper raised $1.1 million from about 5,000 donors in his first gubernatorial fundraising filing.

He has about $880,000 in cash, according to his campaign. The Denver mayor announced he was running for governor Jan. 12.

Republican Scott McInnis raised $550,062 during the same time period, with 85 percent of the donations coming from in state, according to the campaign. McInnis raised $1 million through the end of last year.

Republican Dan Maes, who reported having $5.48 on hand in an updated filing last month, said his first- quarter filing will show that he raised about $62,000 from 700 donors.
