A 22-year-old man has been found guilty of murder in a 2009 shooting in Aurora.
Corey Ray Albat was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Kyle Lathrop, according to the Arapahoe County district attorney’s office.
On May 9, Lathrop and a friend drove from Lakewood to meet with Albat, and the pair got into an argument, the district attorney’s office said.
Lathrop and his friend left but were called back by Albat a short time later, prosecutors said. At the second meeting, in the 500 block of Geneva Street, Albat shot Lathrop three times, according to the DA’s office.
An Arapahoe County jury found Albat guilty this week after a six-day trial. Albat is scheduled to be sentenced June 25.
