A house fire in the Pinery area of Douglas County fueled by strong winds heavily damaged the home.

The fire broke out at about 1 p.m. Wednesday at 7280 Meadow View, according to Andy Lyon, a South Metro Fire Rescue Authority spokesman.

When South Metro and Franktown firefighters arrived, the roof was in flames and fire was threatening adjacent homes, Lyon said. I took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

A woman at the home suffered slight smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene.

Investigators believe the fire was accidentally caused by roofers using a propane torch.
