Investigators seized 159 roosters Friday afternoon at a home in Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said it thinks the roosters were being used for cockfighting.
Earlier in the month, animal-control officers were looking for a stray dog in the area when they spotted roosters of the type used in fighting.
Raiding the home, Adams County sheriff’s deputies found many roosters already dead. The rest were euthanized because they were too aggressive, according to a county spokeswoman.
