Investigators seized 159 roosters at a home in Adams County this afternoon.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said it believes the roosters were being used for cockfighting. An investigation is underway.
Earlier in the month, animal control was looking for a stray dog in the area when they spotted roosters of the type used in fighting.
Raiding the home on Friday, Adams County Sheriff’s deputies found many roosters already dead. The rest were euthanized because they were too aggressive, according to a spokeswoman for Adams County.
