CINCINNATI — Newspaper publishers Brown Media Holdings Co. and Brown Publishing Co. — parent entity to business newspapers such as the Boulder County Business Report — have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy relief and plan to sell their assets in 10 states to a bidder the companies have chosen.
Brown Publishing Co. purchased Boulder Business Information, owner of the Boulder County Business Report, in early 2008. As part of that deal, Brown Publishing acquired Boulder Business Information’s majority ownership stakes in the Northern Colorado Business Report in Fort Collins, the Wyoming Business Report in Cheyenne and the Lakewood-based research company DataJoe LLC.
