Chris Carlson of Highlands Ranch Golf Club and Michael Love of The Club at Pradera shot a 1-under- par 70 in strong wind Tuesday at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster to win the Colorado Golf Association’s Four-Ball Championship.

Their two-day total of 5-under 138 on two courses in Westminster was two strokes better than former Broncos star John Elway of Castle Pines Golf Club and Tom Hart of Cherry Creek Country Club, and Tim Fitzgerald of Highlands Ranch G.C. and Jim Kurtenbach of South Suburban Golf Course.

Brown likely bound for Buffs.

If former Utah guard Carlon Brown pulls his early NBA draft entry as expected, he will be redshirting at Colorado next season.

“He’s a talented player, a big wing who gives you another ball handler,” Utah coach Jim Boylen said Tuesday. “He fit well into our system of pick and rolls. He’s a very good open-court player.”

CU is awaiting the necessary paperwork before an official announcement about the 6-foot-5 Brown coming to Boulder.

Brown must sit out one season as a transfer, then would have one season of eligibility remaining after playing three seasons for the Utes. Brown was Utah’s leading scorer last season, averaging 12.6 points.

In a statement issued by Utah in March, Brown said: “I appreciate the chance to be a Ute, but I think my playing style and skill set may be better used in another situation.”
