DENVER—Investigators say a suspected drunken driver caused a series of hit-and-run crashes that injured six people and damaged six other vehicles on a single Denver street.

Authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jerrad Lowell Leonard of Commerce City, who was among those hurt. None of the injuries are believed serious.

Investigators say an SUV struck a police car parked on East Colfax Avenue Tuesday, injuring an unrelated suspect who was inside. The officer wasn’t hurt, but the patrol car was pushed into two vehicles.

Police say the SUV sped off at more than 80 mph and hit three other vehicles before coming to a stop 10 or 12 blocks away.

One of the injured was in the third car struck by the SUV and three were in the last.
