Denver Academy’s Matt Bennett allowed one hit, walked two and struck out 20 on Thursday in an 8-0 victory over Arrupe Jesuit. He also was involved with the other out (a rundown), and at the plate he contributed two doubles, a triple and two RBIs.
Doubling his fun:
Nice doubleheader against Rocky Mountain Lutheran on Tuesday for Sam Rotbart of Herzl/RMHA. In the first game, he tossed a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-1 victory; in Game 2, he was 4-for-4 with three homers and seven RBIs in winning 15-6.
