FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State University has a new vice president to help increase diversity among students on the Fort Collins campus.

The university said Tuesday that Mary Ontiveros will begin the part-time position of vice president for diversity on July 1 while retaining a part-time post as associate vice president for the Division of Enrollment and Access. The new position lasts for three years. After that, the university says, it will evaluate how to move forward.

CSU President Tony Frank created the position based on recommendations from a diversity task force. Ontiveros was chosen from a pool of university employees for the post.
