Airfares at Denver International Airport have dropped 30 percent in the past 10 years, with Denver’s fares ranked in the lower third of 100 U.S. airports, according to a report Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Denver’s average domestic airfare in the fourth quarter of 2009 was $291.53, compared with $319.31 for the national average. In the past year, Denver’s fares have dropped 9 percent; nationally, fares are down 7.4 percent.
