3OH!3, the tongue-in-cheek Boulder electro-pop duo, have steadily mutated into tween icons after flirting with jokey, synth-driven crunk in earlier incarnations. That helps explain why they’re on a sharp ascent the past couple years as hits such as “Don’t Trust Me” and “Starstrukk” have captured the shattered attention spans of their MTV target marget. (Their mutual appreciation society with paper-thin pop star Ke$ha doesn’t hurt, either). The band is promoting the new album “Streets of Gold,” which drops June 29, with a set at the Fillmore Auditorium tonight, with co-headliners Cobra Starship. Sold out.
Meese went the way of fellow Denverites Vaux when the agreeable pop-rockers were picked up by, then unceremoniously dropped from, Atlantic Records — a label that also recently signed Denver’s the Rouge. That doesn’t diminish the quality of Meese’s slick-as-snails debut, “Broadcast,” which showcases leader Patrick Meese’s stranglehold on infectious melodies and tight songcraft. The band plays its final Denver show Saturday at the Bluebird Theater, with the Northern Way. $12-$14. Ticketmaster
