ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—Matt Brown singled home two runs with one out in the seventh inning to give Limon a 6-5 victory over Resurrection Christian in the 2A state baseball championship game on Saturday.
Trailing 5-4, Limon (18-2) loaded the bases on a hit batter and two walks off Tyler Lohr. Lucas Carls came in and retired a batter, but Brown drove a 1-0 pitch to left to score two runs.
Brown pitched a scoreless seventh for the complete game win.
Jordan Piche of Resurrection Christian (22-3) took a no-hitter and a 5-0 lead into the sixth. Brandon Schmidt ended it with an RBI single and Jacob Andersen added a three-run double to cut the lead to 5-4.
David Flanigan had two hits and scored twice for Resurrection Christian.
Limon last won a state baseball title in 2006.
