DENVER—The University of Colorado has a new interim chancellor for the Denver and Aurora campuses.

Jerry Wartgow was named interim chancellor Thursday. He’ll replace M. Roy Wilson, who announced last week he is resigning June 30.

Wartgow is a former superintendent of Denver Public Schools and president of the Colorado Community College System. He’s also worked as an adviser to foreign university systems.

Wartgow starts Aug. 3.

The university also named a new associate dean for finance and administration of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Lilly Marks.
