Fire crews remained overnight at a small forest fire west of Denver that began just after 5 p.m. and stretched about a half-mile.
The fire briefly threatened, but did not ignite, homes in the Blue Mountain Estates subdivision west of Colorado 93 and north of Golden. A single-engine plane made two drops of slurry on the fire before nightfall, which seemed to dampen the fire in the trees.
No evacuations were ordered. The cause was under investigation.
