University of Denver women’s lacrosse senior captains Natasha Davies (Annapolis, Md.), Ali Flury (Arnold, Md.) and Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village) were selected to the 2010 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association all-West Region second team Friday.
The 128 athletes honored as all-region are eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America teams, which will be announced Monday. The IWLCA will honor the All-Americans at the IWLCA All-America banquet June 12 at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
Duo again wins open division.
Jon Lindstrom of The Heritage at Westmoor and Dean Clapp of Meadow Hills Golf Course won their second consecutive Colorado Golf Association two-man team championship. They are the first pair to win the open division twice.
Lindstrom and Clapp made par on the first playoff hole (No. 9) at Coal Creek Golf Course to defeat Erik Hogan of Buffalo Run Golf Course and Kai Koponen of Ptarmigan Country Club. Both teams matched scores for the second straight day — 64-70 — to force sudden death.
Tad Willenbrock of Glenmoor Country Club and Jim Doidge of Pueblo Country Club finished third with a 138 total.
