Todd Helton snapped out of his season-long funk at the plate with a run-scoring double off Tim Lincecum in the fifth inning Monday. It was Helton’s first extra-base hit since May 22 at Kansas City and gave him 10 RBIs. He had been tied for ninth on the team with nine RBIs.

For openers.

Before Monday, the Rockies had lost five straight series openers at San Francisco, where their all-time record is a wretched 48-90.
