Two people died this afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on Colorado Highway 392 just east of Weld County road 21.

The Colorado State Patrol said a 2000 white Ford truck traveling eastbound on the highway attempted to pass another vehicle. The truck went into a westbound lane and struck a 1996 Suzuki, which was traveling west.

Both the sedan’s driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not identify those who died at the scene.

The unidentified driver of the truck was taken by helicopter to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.
