For the second time since Sunday a man is missing after going into one of Colorado’s swollen rivers.
Garfield County Search and Rescue is looking for a man in his early 20s in the Colorado River near No Name along Interstate 70.
He and two others were crossing the river in a old cable car that was tipped by the high, fast water. They were not wearing life-preservers.
The missing man has not been named by authorities.
On Thursday the man’s employer, Glenwood Canyon Resort, confirmed the man worked there and that his family had been notified.
“We are using every resource available to assist in the rescue,” Kevin Schneider, owner of Glenwood Canyon Resort, said in a statement.
The resort postponed Saturday’s grand opening of its new “Zipline Adventures.”
Searchers in Larimer County still have not found Brandon Bowie, 25, of Gary, Ind., who was swept off an innertube in the Cache La Poudre River Sunday afternoon.
Authorities have warned that rivers across the state are running dangerously high and fast because of the rapid snowmelt caused by warm temperatures at higher elevations.
