Jose Miguel Colon-Colon, 28, was trailed by his alleged victim, a police officer and a police dog before he was arrested on a front porch this morning, Wheat Ridge police said.
He is accused of stealing a man’s wallet a gunpoint at a car wash at 5478 W. 38th Ave. at about 11 a.m.
The victim followed the robber, who was walking, to a King Soopers at West 38th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard and called Wheat Ridge Police.
An officer spotted a man matching the robber’s description at West 38th Avenue and Wolff Street and chased him through alleys and between buildings. The officer saw the man had a gun, according to a statement from police.
Police set up a perimeter and notified nearby residents, until a Denver police dog found Colon-Colon outside a home near West 39th Avenue and and Vrain Street about 1 p.m.
Colon-Colon, a Lakewood resident, is being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
