Frontier roots

Today. Learn how to make butter, beat rugs and clean laundry just like Colorado’s early settlers did in the late 1800s, at the Clear Creek History Park. Located in downtown Golden, the park’s “Past Pursuits” event at Pearce Cabin re-creates the look and feel of a frontier ranch complete with gardens, a working blacksmith shop, schoolhouse and chicken coop. New activities happen each weekend throughout the summer. Suggested admission is $5. 923 10th St. (11th and Arapahoe streets), Golden. Details at 303-278-3557 or . Photo by Scott Dressel-Martin
