Western artists exhibit.

The Gilpin County Arts Association announces its 64th Annual Fine Art Exhibition, running through Aug. 14 in Central City Gallery. The exhibition includes work by artists living in the Rocky Mountain West. The exhibition is free. 303-582-5952 or

Solstice celebration.

In celebration of the summer solstice — the longest day of the year — a festival of music, flowers and food will take place June 26 and 27 in Estes Park. Festivities will begin Saturday morning with the raising of the maypole and a colorful opening ceremony in Bond Park. Entertainment is provided by folk-dance groups and Scandinavian musicians.

Bayou in the Butte.

Bayou in the Butte is back for its third year June 26-27 in Crested Butte. Louisiana cruisine such as jambalaya, gumbo and crawfish etouffee will be served on site by the Gourmet Noodle restaurant. A beer and wine garden will also be available and provide a good place to listen to the three bands that will play daily. Gates to the town park next to the Crested Butte Center for the Arts will open at 10 a.m. both days; bands will play from 11 a.m. to about 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $25; kids 16 and under pay their age.

Estes Park Rodeo.

Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) cowboys compete in saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie- down roping, bareback bronc riding, barrel racing and bull riding July 6-11 at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park in Estes Park. The Estes Park Rodeo was named the 2009 Outstanding Small Rodeo in the nation. General admission is $17 for adults, $5 for children 3-11. 970-586-6104 or
