DOWD JUNCTION, Colo.—An Aspen-area man drowned Saturday while rafting in the Eagle River.
The unidentified man drowned after his private raft overturned just before noon near Dowd Junction. He was with two friends who survived.
Authorities say the victim was a man in his 40s but did not immediately name him. They say he was wearing a life vest and was not taking part in the Teva Mountain Games going on nearby.
