DENVER—A Colorado man accused threatening to harm Michigan U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak and his family for supporting health care reform has been released on bond.
A federal magistrate on Thursday allowed David Hesch of Loveland to go free on $10,000 bond. He was also ordered to store any firearms away from his home and notify authorities of their location.
The FBI says someone mailed a letter to Stupak threatening to paint the Mackinac Bridge with blood from the congressman and his family.
Hesch’s father was also arrested in the case in Michigan and has been released with an electronic monitor.
Hesch must travel to Bay City, Mich. for his next court date on June 25.
