A Colorado Springs pharmacist was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison today and must forfeit his $4.8 million pharmacy building in a steroids conspiracy case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver said.
Thomas Bader, the owner and operator of College Pharmacy at 3505 Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, was convicted of importing and distributing a Chinese-made human growth hormone, as well as an anabolic steroid.
Bader was indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver in August 2007 and was convicted after a four-week jury trial on February.
Bader sold testosterone, an anabolic steroid, and the Chinese human growth hormone to customers around the country, most often to bodybuilders who did not have a legitimate relationship with physicians, federal prosecutors said in a news release.
