BOULDER, Colo.—University of Colorado officials aren’t saying whether the Buffs have received an invitation to leave the Big 12 Conference for the Pac-10.
Two other Big 12 members—Missouri and Nebraska—are discussing their conference affiliation. Missouri officials are meeting Thursday and talks were expected Friday in Nebraska.
According to media reports, the Big 12 has given Nebraska and Missouri a Friday deadline to affirm their commitment to the league. The two schools are among the leading candidates to join the Big Ten should it expand.
Colorado regents met behind closed doors this week to discuss the school’s athletic membership in the Big 12.
The Pac-10 invited Colorado and Texas to join back in the 1990s when the Big 12 was being formed.
