This whirlwind of college conference realignment has taken on a life of its own, but columnist Marla Ridenour urges a bit of reality: “Since the BCS began in 1998, Ohio State has played in eight BCS games in 12 years, including three national championship games. The lack of a Big Ten championship helped to pave the way for those title appearances. If the conference’s talent level was weak, all the Buckeyes had to do was beat Michigan to get a shot at that sparkling glass football. . . . That might not be the case in a Big Ten, er Twelve.”
