U.K. band stopped by Denver’s on Saturday in support of their “Black Swan” release. Los Angeles bands and Carney opened for them to an intimate crowd. USA vs. England World Cup mania by an overstimulated few in the crowd spilled into Athlete’s set — which frontman Joel Pott handled with grace and love. Carney’s monster-rock stage presence was the night’s highlight.
