A body that had washed close to the shore was recovered this afternoon in the Cache La Poudre River on Hemlock Street in northern Fort Collins.

“The body is consistent so far with the missing person we have from a few weeks ago, but we can’t say for sure,” said a spokeswoman for the Larmier County Sheriffs office.

Brandon Bowie disappeared on the Poudre River May 30 when he fell from an innertube near Picnic Rock in Larimer County.

Bowie was not wearing a life preserver, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department.

The Poudre River flow was almost three times the normal rate on that date.

Investigators are still on scene today and the coroner’s office will make the determination on the body’s identity.
