WHEAT RIDGE, Colo.—Police say a woman who drove the wrong way on Interstate 70 and set off a collision that killed her and another driver was three times over the legal limit for alcohol.
Investigators say 26-year-old Heydi Margarita Hau Chi’s blood-alcohol content was 0.246. The legal limit for drivers is 0.08.
Police say the Denver woman was driving the wrong way on I-70 west of Denver June 11 when she hit 65-year-old Woon Baek’s car head-on. Baek got out of his car and was struck and killed by a semitrailer.
Police got reports of an erratic driver in Wheat Ridge and were looking for the car when the crash occurred. They say a license plate matching Hau Chi’s car was found in the area.
