RAPID CITY, S.D.—No one was injured when a United Express flight to Denver returned to Rapid City after an electrical odor filled the cockpit.
The plane carrying 50 passengers and three crew members made a safe landing about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
SkyWest Airlines operated the flight. Spokeswoman Marissa Snow says a fan for circulating air in the cockpit is believed to have been the source of the smell. She says earlier reports that smoke filled the cockpit were not accurate.
The plane took off later in the day and arrived at Denver about 8:30 p.m., about 5 1/2 hours late.
