Getting your player ready...
Can life get any better for downhill skier Lindsey Vonn? The Olympic gold and bronze medalist at the Vancouver Olympics just added a hole-in-one to her resume — in just her second time around an 18-hole course.
On June 7, the Vail resident hit a 5-iron on a 167-yard par 3 in Monterey, Calif.
“It was a scramble, and the other three players had shanked their balls in the woods,” Vonn said. “I was last to hit, and when I saw the ball sailing toward the green, I was happy we were going to have a ball in play.”
She bent over to pick up her tee and never saw it go in.
“It was obviously beginner’s luck,” she said.
