DENVER—Denver police say two teens are facing charges after shooting fireworks that landed in a house and set the carpet on fire.
The people inside the house escaped without injury in the June 21 incident. Authorities say it’s unclear if the two knew anyone was at home.
Police say the teens—ages 15 and 16—face charges of first-degree arson and other charges are pending. Their names haven’t been released because they are juveniles.
Denver police said in a news conference Monday that all fireworks are illegal in the city. People who set them off can face up to six months in jail and a $999 fine.
