PHILADELPHIA — Aretha Franklin will soon take the stage with an accomplished accompanist more famous for her diplomacy: Condoleezza Rice.
The pair will play Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 27 in a concert featuring Franklin’s music as well as classical composers to benefit programs for inner-city children and education. Former Secretary of State Rice will accompany Franklin on piano for songs such as “Natural Woman,” as well as play selections from Mozart and other greats. The Associated Press
