PHILADELPHIA — Aretha Franklin will soon take the stage with an accomplished accompanist more famous for her diplomacy: Condoleezza Rice.

The pair will play Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 27 in a concert featuring Franklin’s music as well as classical composers to benefit programs for inner-city children and education.
