Getting your player ready...

One of the most most awaited free-agent chases in sports history is officially underway as of late last night. Stars such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh hit the open market early Thursday morning.

James was setting up camp in Ohio for today, welcoming suitors, including friend and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, who is part of the New Jersey Nets’ recruiting team.

Wade was preparing for visitors in his hometown, Chicago, while Bosh was settling in Dallas to talk to potential employers. And, in Miami, there was still buzz that James, Wade and Bosh would somehow merge their egos and bank accounts to play together with the Heat.

Deals can be struck, but nothing can be signed officially until July 8. And teams likely won’t know their salary cap number for the coming year until July 7.

Gentlemen, start your chase for many of the world’s best players.
