The Telluride Blues & Brews Festival wasn’t too happy when ZZ Top canceled its appearance at the Sept. 17-19 event, but it was just one of 22 dates the beard-rockers canned in order to tour with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Have no fear: The festival still has plenty of quality headliners, including B.B. King, Jimmie Vaughan, Allen Toussaint, JJ Grey & Mofro, Galactic, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears and more to be announced. Single-day tickets went on sale Thursday, and three-day passes and four-day camping passes are still available. ($40-$160, )

Cephalic Carnage, the Denver grindcore act better known outside our fair city than in it, will kick off its massive world tour on July 17 in San Diego to support its new album “Misled by Certainty” — including an Aug. 13 show at Denver’s Summit Music Hall, followed by European dates through early October.
