The American Red Cross said Charley Shimanski, chief executive of the Red Cross Mile High Chapter, has been named to serve as the top national-disaster-response official with the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C.
Shimanski will become the senior vice president of disaster services, a position overseeing a staff of 185 and more than 2,000 disaster-response workers nationwide.
