Getting your player ready...
Could this be the week for Barnes? The outgoing 29-year-old, regarded as golf’s “next big thing” when he turned professional in 2003 out of the University of Arizona, is finally having a breakthrough year on the PGA Tour ($1.62 million in earnings) but lacks his first victory. Barnes is one of four players with a tour-high six top-10 finishes, including a tie for fifth on Sunday at the Travelers. Aronimink Golf Club, a Donald Ross design in Newton Square, Pa., doesn’t favor any particular style of player and could fit Barnes’ all-around solid game beginning today in the AT&T National.
