Hernandez says fewer big-league teams would play faster games
New York Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez, who has joined the chorus of those rejecting video replay to assist umpires, offers a solution for shortening major-league games.
He suggests four teams — he didn’t name them — should be dropped from the big leagues, reducing the number of Triple- A-type pitchers in the majors who slow play because they lack ability and confidence on the mound.
Maybe such a move would keep Hernandez awake. He fell asleep in the booth during the Mets’ May 9 game against the Giants.
